Head of School's Welcome

I am incredibly proud and excited to be taking up the post of Head of School at Heywood Academy. It is a privilege to join a school that is being built around the needs of its students, with a focus on helping every young person achieve their full potential.

I understand how important it is for families to feel confident that their child is in a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment, and that’s exactly what I intend to help create at Heywood Academy.

My background is in leading schools that support children and young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs, and I’ve held a number of leadership roles across different settings. I bring with me a deep commitment to inclusion, high expectations, and above all, putting the needs of young people first.

I believe every child should be encouraged and supported to aim high, and that together, staff, parents, carers, and the wider community can give our students the best chance to succeed. I’m really looking forward to working closely with families and carers to build strong, open relationships.

Your insight and support are crucial as we help every student at Heywood Academy to grow in confidence, build independence, and work towards aspirational futures.

My goal is to ensure that every child feels understood, valued, and fully supported every step of the way.

I’m also thrilled to be joining a forward-thinking, child-centred Trust that shares my values and passion for inclusive education. The staff team at Heywood Academy already includes some exceptional professionals who are committed to making this school an outstanding place of learning.

Together, we will work tirelessly to make sure every child is given the opportunities and encouragement they deserve.
